Sick leave is not intended to be used as a substitute for vacation days. Sick leave may be used to cover absences for actual periods of illness, medical, vision, or dental visits or medical emergencies in the immediate family. For the purposes of this policy, immediate family is considered spouse, children, parents, grandparents, siblings or other dependents living in the employee\u2019s household.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Sick leave is earned at the rate of one day per month beginning with the first full month of active employment.\u00a0Sick leave cannot be used during an employee\u2019s probationary period.\u00a0There is no limit to the amount of sick leave an employee can accrue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please refer to the <em>Sick Leave<\/em> section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/faculty-staff\/human-resources\/personnel-manual\/\">Personnel Manual<\/a> for full details on the use of sick leave.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Bereavement Leave<\/h2>\n<p>Full-time employees, who work a minimum of thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week, may take up to five (5) days of paid bereavement leave upon the death of an immediate family member. \u201cImmediate family members\u201d are defined as an employee\u2019s spouse, parent, stepparent, sibling, children, stepchildren, grandparent, or grandchild. Additionally, employees may take up to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave upon the death of an extended family member. \u201cExtended family members\u201d are defined as an employee\u2019s spouse\u2019s parent, spouse\u2019s stepparent, or spouse\u2019s sibling.<\/p>\n<a class=\"button button--ghost button--theme-orange\" href=\"https:\/\/assets.campbell.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Employee-Leave-Request-Form.pdf\" >Download the Employee Leave Request Form<\/a>\n<p><strong>Please refer to the <em>Bereavement Leave<\/em> section of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/faculty-staff\/human-resources\/personnel-manual\/\">the Personnel Manual<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vacation Leave The University recognizes the importance of time away from work to relax, spend time with family and friends,&hellip;
