{"id":21020,"date":"2019-08-07T08:17:55","date_gmt":"2019-08-07T12:17:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/?page_id=21020"},"modified":"2023-07-14T14:46:03","modified_gmt":"2023-07-14T18:46:03","slug":"account-and-password-management","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/information-technology-services\/it-service-desk\/account-and-password-management\/","title":{"rendered":"Account and Password Management"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#network\">Campbell Network Account<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#email\">Student Email Account<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#microsoft\">Student Microsoft Account<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"network\">Campbell Network Account<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Used by Faculty, Staff and Students to access many applications such as Self Service, Blackboard, Office.com etc.<\/li>\n<li>Used by Staff and Faculty to access email, Office365, Egnyte, network shares and other resources. Also used by faculty and staff to logon to university provided computers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Notice of Password Expiration<\/h3>\n<p>This only pertains to Faculty\/staff as student passwords do not expire. All Staff and Faculty network account holders will receive email notices letting you know that your network password is about to expire. The password expiration notices will point you to the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Account Portal<\/a>\u00a0to change your password. See the notes below.<\/p>\n<h3>Account Management Site (Microsoft Account Portal)<\/h3>\n<p>Your Campbell network account can be managed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Account Portal.<\/a> The portal will allow you to reset or change your password in case it has been forgotten\/expired.<\/p>\n<h3>Changing Your Password<\/h3>\n<p>To change your password simply logon to the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Account Portal<\/a> with your current network username and password. Choose CHANGE PASSWORD on the Password block and follow the instructions. Most services will recognize the change immediately. Some may take up to 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<h3>Resetting Your Password<\/h3>\n<p>To reset your password simply go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/myaccount.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Microsoft Account Portal<\/a> and choose the &#8220;Can&#8217;t Access Your Account?&#8221; link on the sign in page. Follow the instructions there to recover your account and reset your password.<\/p>\n<p>Faculty and staff members, please be sure to enter your username there followed by @campbell.edu and not your email address (unless its the same).<\/p>\n<p>How you have setup Self-Service Password Recovery in the past will determine what is needed to reset the password. Options may include secret questions, SMS, phone call, or use of an authenticator app.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"email\">Student Email Account<\/h2>\n<p>Used by Students to access student Gmail and other Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)<br \/>\nThis account is separate from your Campbell network account, though the username may be the same.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Changing Your Password<\/h3>\n<p>Login to Gmail and open the Google Account under the avatar at the top right. Console. The student can change it from there. Under &#8220;Security,&#8221; select <strong>Signing in to Google<\/strong>. Choose\u00a0<strong>Password<\/strong>. You might need to sign in again. Enter your new password, then select\u00a0<strong>Change Password<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Resetting Your Password<\/h3>\n<p>Student may reset the password using the &#8220;Forgot Password&#8221; prompt on the Google login screen.<br \/>\nUpdating this password will not affect your Campbell network account.\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 id=\"microsoft\">Student Microsoft Account<\/h2>\n<p>Microsoft and Campbell University provide Microsoft 365 free to current students. This includes the ability to download and use the Office Suite of apps.
