His passion for the study of Christian theology and ethics and his ability to inspire that passion in students, as well as his passion for the mission of Campbell University Divinity School and tireless service on its behalf, have made Jorgenson an invaluable member of the faculty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jorgenson\u2019s service in the classroom starts from the very first day of Introduction to Christian Theology, in which he not only helps students overcome their fear of a discipline that often seems intimidating, but also leads many students to dig more deeply into this discipline. His class on Virtues and Vices has become a favorite among students, with many noting the life-and ministry-changing effect of this class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the past few years, Jorgenson has been the heart and soul of the new Master of Arts in Faith and Leadership Formation (MAFLF) degree. He has been instrumental in its design and in the lengthy process of approval through the university and through both of the Divinity School\u2019s accreditors, SACSCOC and COAATS. He has led the development of marketing materials, and now he serves as the program director and professor of both the initial and final classes for the MAFLF degree.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With the development of the MAFLF degree, Jorgenson continues a pattern of innovation in his teaching. A particularly notable example is his class on Food and Theology, a popular summer class that takes students from working in the community garden to the farmers market to cooking together, all while exploring the theological implications of the production and consumption of food.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Originally a native of Phoenix, Arizona,\u00a0 Jorgenson began his college education at Grand Canyon University, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies with a minor in Speech. He then earned his Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. His Ph.D. in Religion was earned from Baylor University where his dissertation was entitled \u201cBapto-Catholicism: Recovering Tradition and Reconsidering the Baptist Identity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jorgenson is warm, winsome, enthusiastic and personable. He is married to Kelly Jones Jorgenson, an alumna and former staff member of Campbell University Divinity School. They are the parents of two delightful young daughters, Mary Grace and Ellie. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Aside from spending time with his family, Jorgenson enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and writing. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He is a fan of NPR and he believes that the perfect weekend would include gourmet cooking and watching a great film with friends.
