Any service animal must always be on a lea<\/li>\n<li>Helium Balloons of any kind<\/li>\n<li>Flying items (i.e. drones, toy airplanes, manual or powered, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>No throwing of any items inside the building (i.e. frisbees, balls of any kind, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Boom Boxes, Personal Bluetooth Speakers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Appropriate sanctions will be administered to persons violating this policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Electric Mobility Devices (EMDs) <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Enrolled students, faculty, and staff are permitted to operate Electric Mobility Devices (hereinafter EMD(s)) on Campbell University property. All dependents and guests must be accompanied by an above-named party at all times if operating an EMD on Campbell University property. Operation of EMDs is restricted to outdoor areas. Grinding, rail sliding, and the like are prohibited. Due to fire safety concerns, EMDs may not be used, stored, or charged in any building that Campbell University owns, operates, or leases; these buildings include, but are not limited to, residence halls, academic buildings, dining halls, libraries, student unions, etc. EMDs must yield the right of way and must not disrupt pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Any violation to this policy may result in University confiscating the EMD and\/or a Student Code of Conduct violation that may be subject to adjudication by the Office of Community Standards and Conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Types of Electric Mobility Devices included in this policy: Hoverboards, electric skateboards, electric scooters, electric skates, electric bicycles, single-wheel electric boards, and e-unicycles.<\/p>\n<p>Appropriate sanctions will be administered to persons violating this policy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Advertising in Student Union<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Advertising, including, but not limited to, message posting, flyers, and display monitor posting is limited to\u00a0Campbell University departments and university registered student organizations. All postings must\u00a0be used\u00a0to promote campus events, departmental events, or registered student organization events only. The student union does not allow any flyers to be posted in the building.<\/p>\n<p><u>Student Club Advertising<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Student Clubs may only request advertising for events they are holding. Advertising for these events will take place no earlier than 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the event date.\u00a0 Display Monitor Policy and Flyer Policy also applies to this advertising.<\/p>\n<p><u>Display Monitor Policy<\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p>TV Monitors are located all throughout the Student Union. Certain TV Monitors are dedicated for certain purposes, and some are dedicated for general use.<\/p>\n<p>To request a message to be displayed on the monitors in the Student Union, please submit your request along with the content\/graphic of your message and the times it should be posted to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:abose@campbell.edu\">abose@campbell.edu<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0At that time your request will be reviewed and when approved by the Union Administration will be posted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u>Message Posting and Flyers<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Messages or advertising of any type are not to be placed on walls, doors, glass, etc. inside or outside of the Student Union.<\/p>\n<p>Flyers, Messages, or advertising of any type are not allowed to be placed on tables, countertops, or furniture in the Student Union.<\/p>\n<p><u>Tabling<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Tabling within the Student Union is limited to Campbell University departments and university registered student organizations. All tabling must\u00a0be used to promote campus events, departmental events, or registered student organization only. The student union does not allow any outside organizations to table or advertise inside the building.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u>Facility Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p><u>Public\/Community Use of Banquet Hall and General Meeting Rooms<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Currently, the use of the Banquet Hall and General Meeting Rooms are only for the use of Campbell University operations. These areas are currently not available for use outside of Campbell University operations.<\/p>\n<p><u>Banquet Hall Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The Banquet Hall is laid out in a way to have one large room or by closing movable walls, divide the Hall into 4 standalone sections, Banquet Hall A, B, C, and pre-function area.\u00a0 Configuration of the Banquet Hall will be determined for each individual event. Sections A, B, and C will not be open during daily operations, except for events, luncheons, etc.\u00a0 The Pre-Function will be open and available for general use during daily operations.\u00a0 Request for use of any of the Banquet Hall can be done through the centralized reservation program in (<a href=\"https:\/\/login.myschoolbuilding.com\/\">SchoolDude<\/a>), or through the Union Administration Office.<\/p>\n<p><u>General Meeting Rooms Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p>There are General Meeting Rooms on both the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0and 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0floors. There are 4 General Meeting Rooms on the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0floor, and 3 General Meeting Rooms on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0floor. \u00a0General Meeting Rooms can either be reserved by the individual touch screen pads located at each meeting room, or by contacting Student Union Administration at (910) 893-7136 or (910) 893-1613.\u00a0 Each GMR has AV technology installed, and the use of this technology is welcomed by the meeting participants.\u00a0 If assistance is needed to use the AV technology, Union Administration will be glad to assist.\u00a0 There is a time limit for meetings in each room of a maximum of 2 hours per day per group.\u00a0 The exception is General Meeting Room 280, which must be reserved as a Conference Room by Faculty or Staff.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The general meeting rooms are intended for small meetings of students, faculty, and staff. These rooms are available to be reserved for meetings at the start of the day via touchpad outside each room. Advanced reservations may only be made by registered student organizations or university departments. The student union is designed to be the primary space for students on campus, and as such only registered student organizations will be allowed to schedule regularly occurring meetings. The union reserves the right to occasionally cancel an instance of these regularly occurring meetings if the rooms are required for a special event. Study groups\/ individual students may only reserve these rooms via touchpad on the same day of the reservation.<\/p>\n<p><u>Oasis Lounge Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The Oasis Lounge is a reservable space on a limited basis, for student events.\u00a0 The Lounge is completely furnished with soft seating, tables, chairs, and booth-style seating.\u00a0 No furniture can be removed from the area for any events.\u00a0 Any set up for additional needs must be discussed with Union Administration. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u>Gaming Area Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Gaming Area is not a reservable space for individual group events.\u00a0 Needed items for any of the games will be checked out at the Welcome Center desk with a valid Campbell ID Card.\u00a0 This includes the fixed game equipment as well as the board gaming area.<\/p>\n<p><u>Fitness &amp; Wellness Center Usage<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/life\/campus-recreation\/facilities\/fitness-center-rules-regulations\/\">visit the Campus Recreation website<\/a>\u00a0for the Fitness &amp; Wellness Center Rules &amp; Regulations.<\/p>\n<p><u>Student Union Equipment<\/u><\/p>\n<p>All Student Union equipment, including but not limited to tables, chairs, pub tables, music and microphone stands, stage and sandwich boards, is for use within the Student Union facilities only. These items may not be removed from the building or used in outdoor or off-site locations. Any Equipment needed outside the Student Union must be requested through Facilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><u>Lost and Found<\/u><\/p>\n<p>. The Lost and Found will be cleaned out at the end of each semester and whatever items left will be donated or thrown away<\/p>\n<p>The Student Union is an environmentally-friendly facility and is dedicated to doing its part to reduce landfill waste as much as possible.\u00a0 Trash and Mixed Recycling containers are placed throughout the facility for this purpose.\u00a0 For cardboard, we have a dumpster dedicated just for cardboard located in our central trash\/recycle collection area in the parking lot at the end of the building.\u00a0 Cardboard boxes must be broken down flat to fit through the slot in the dumpster.\u00a0 Please be mindful of our environment and place items in the correct receptacle.<\/p>\n<p><u>Movie Policy<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Groups wishing to show a movie in the theater or any other space in the union must secure a public performance license for the movie being shown. The license must be submitted to the Union Director no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled showing. Due to US copyright law there will be no exceptions to this policy. Union management staff are available to help groups obtain a license, but individual groups will be responsible for all costs involved. Any other broadcast media events (TV, Sports, Radio, etc.) will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but in all cases the rights to broadcast must be secured.<\/p>\n<p><u>Disabilities <\/u><\/p>\n<p>The Student Union can only honor accommodations communicated via the Disability Services Office. Students interested in accommodations must be registered with the Office of Disability Services and complete their processes and procedures to receive the accommodation. It is the responsibility of the student or his\/her parent to notify Disability Services of any assistance they may require due to a disability. Every effort will be made to provide reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><u>Free Expression and Academic Freedom <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Campbell University is committed to providing a safe and non-discriminatory learning, living, and working environment for all members of the University community. Freedom of expression and thought are as essential for a thriving academic community. As a community we must be willing to listen generously, speak honestly, and be willing to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Students need to learn to be comfortable with the discomfort of new ideas \u2013 including ideas they may find offensive. Honestly held and reasonable differences of opinion are protected at Campbell University, in and out of the classroom. Discussion of an academic subject, even when the ideas are controversial, is protected. Disagreements and criticism, even when strongly asserted, are not bias incidents if they are aimed at ideas and actions, rather than at a person or group. Nothing in the bias reporting process is intended to stifle academic freedom or the appropriate expression of (even controversial) ideas.<\/p>\n<p><u>Protests\/ Demonstrations<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The University will always respect the rights of all individual and group members of our campus community and hear grievances of all students; but no student shall participate in or incite a riot or an unauthorized disorderly assembly. Students shall not interfere with the orderly administrative and educational process. No student shall use force, violence, obscene or indecorous language or conduct indicating their disapproval of any matter.<\/p>\n<p>See Student Handbook for more information.<\/p>\n<p><u>Solicitation <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Campbell University does not permit sales or solicitation by anyone, anywhere on campus. Telephone numbers and addresses of students will not be given to solicitors or salespersons.<\/p>\n<p><u>Smoking <\/u><\/p>\n<p>This policy addresses all tobacco products including, but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, cigars, e-cigarettes, personal vaporizers, electronic nicotine delivery systems, and smokeless tobacco.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smoking and the use of all tobacco products is prohibited in all University owned buildings, vehicles, and carts.<\/li>\n<li>Smoking and the use of all tobacco products is not allowed within fifty feet (50\u2019) of any building including steps, stairways, doors, windows or air intake systems.<\/li>\n<li>The Health Science Campus on highway 421 is a tobacco-free campus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Appropriate sanctions will be administered to persons violating this policy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Policies &amp;
