Campbell University respects your decision to participate or not to participate in a research study. Research participation is voluntary and you may choose to not participate or stop participation at any time. Your decision will not affect your current or future relations with Campbell University.<\/p>\n

Participant \/ Patient Rights<\/h2>\n

Our research participants are generally students, faculty, and staff from our Main and satellite campus\u2019, as well as, the surrounding rural communities in North Carolina. Often participation requires survey completion, interviews and occasionally performing tasks. Participation usually involves responses in-person, by phone, or email and may include visiting the campus or your doctor\u2019s office. The risk involved in a study depends upon its design, subject matter, methodology, and interaction or intervention with participants. It is important to consider the level of risks and compare the risks to any benefits when choosing to participate or not participate in human subjects research.\u00a0 You will find a list of your rights in the following document, Research Participant Rights<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Informational Videos for Human Research Volunteers<\/h3>\n

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) offers short videos providing information about human research, including medical research and other kinds of research. These videos were created to help potential research participants understand how research works, what questions they should ask, and things to think about when deciding whether to participate in a research study.<\/p>\nView Research Volunteer Informational Videos

Who to Contact<\/h2>\n

The investigator should be able to provide you with answers to your questions about the study. If you have additional questions, you may contact the investigator and their study team at any time.<\/p>\n

If you have questions, concerns, complaints, want to discuss other problems or your rights as a research subject with someone not associated with the study, please contact the IRB Office directly or you may use the HRPP\/IRB Form: Research Concerns or Complaints<\/a>.<\/p>\n
