{"id":783,"date":"2016-12-01T21:11:56","date_gmt":"2016-12-02T02:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/?page_id=783"},"modified":"2025-05-13T09:25:43","modified_gmt":"2025-05-13T13:25:43","slug":"student-loan-options","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.campbell.edu\/financial-aid\/available-aid\/student-loan-options\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Loan Options"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Undergraduate Students<\/h2>\n<p>If\u00a0you are a first-time undergraduate\u00a0Direct Loan borrower at Campbell University, you must go to the\u00a0Federal Student Aid webpage and complete the following two steps.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/app\/counselingInstructions.action?counselingType=entrance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/mpn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete Subsidized and\/or Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note (MPN)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Graduate Students<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Graduate Unsubsidized Loans<\/h3>\n<p>If\u00a0you are a first-time Graduate Unsubsidized\u00a0 borrower at Campbell University, you must go to Federal Student Aid webpage and complete the two steps below.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/app\/counselingInstructions.action?counselingType=entrance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Complete Direct Loan Entrance Counseling<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/mpn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graduate Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note (MPN)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Graduate Plus Loans<\/h3>\n<p>To determine eligibility for a Graduate Plus loan you must complete a Federal Direct PLUS Loan Request each academic year. If approved, you must also complete the Graduate Plus Master Promissory Note (first time Graduate PLUS borrowers only).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/plus-app\/grad\/landing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Federal Direct PLUS Loan Request<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/mpn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Graduate PLUS Master Promissory Note (MPN)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Loans must be processed for the full academic year&#8211;please accept both semesters. Loans will be disbursed in equal disbursements. Credit checks are only valid for 180 days, therefore subsequent requests may be subject to additional credit review, which can affect your credit rating. Interest accrues only on the actual amount that disburses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: The Graduate Unsubsidized Loan is more advantageous for the borrower due to lower interest rates and
