The Federal Work-Study program offers students the opportunity to work part-time to help cover college expenses. Federal work-study is awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and meet certain eligibility requirements. Work-study wages are paid directly to the student as they are earned, not to the University\u2019s Bursar’s Office. Federal Work-Study students are paid $7.75 per hour and paid on a monthly basis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Steps to Federal Work-Study\u00a0<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).\u00a0
    \n<\/strong>A completed FAFSA application is required to receive Federal Work-Study.     Complete the FAFSA<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n
  2. Check your award status.\u00a0
    \n<\/strong>A student must have been awarded Federal Work-Study before receiving a work contract. If you have not been awarded Federal Work-Study (    check your awards<\/a>), you may contact the Office of Financial Aid\u00a0<\/strong>to review your eligibility.\u00a0Financial aid award details can be viewed via Student Self-Service<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Search for campus job openings.\u00a0
    \n<\/strong>A number of\u00a0paid\u00a0on-campus employment opportunities are available. Open positions can be found by visiting     CUHired<\/a> or by speaking to departments directly.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  4. Submit your completed federal work study contract to your supervisor <\/strong><\/strong>BEFORE<\/u> <\/strong> beginning a work study position.\u00a0
    \n<\/strong>Federal Work-Study students are allowed to work for multiple departments, but may not exceed the maximum awarded hours. An authorized Federal Work-Study contract is required for each department.<\/li>\n
  5. Once you are cleared from HR and Payroll, then you may b<\/strong>egin to work.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
